Reginaldo Almeida de Medeiros | Chief Executive Officer

Born in Rio de Janeiro, he graduated in Economics from Universidade Federal Fluminense - UFF, with a masters degree in Energy and Environmental Planning from Coppe/UFRJ. Between 1978 and 1981, he worked at Eletrobrás, CER – Roraima and Eletropaulo. Between 1982 and 1990, he coordinated the studies of charge by the National Department of Water and Electricity – DNAEE, base of the Brazilian tariff structure. He was an independent consultant of the Inter-American Development Bank – IDB, in the area of market and cargo research, between 1988 and 1991, working in the advisory board of Peru, Venezuela and Colombia governments. Between 1992 and 1996, he managed the shared office of the companies CPFL, Eletropaulo, Sabesp, Comgás and CESP. He was also chief of staff and Deputy Secretary of the National Secretariat of Energy between 1996 and 1999. Henceforth until the end of 2010, he managed the activities of CPFL Energia in Brasília. Between 1982 and 2000, he conducted marginal cost tariffs courses at several universities and educational institutions. Author of the book “O Capital Privado na Reestruturação do Setor Elétrico Brasileiro”, edited in 1995. Assumed the Abraceels Chief Executive Office in January 1st, 2011 and his current term of office goes until March 2020.

Alexandre Lopes | Technical Officer

Economist graduated from Universidade de Brasília in 2001, Alexandre Pedroza Monteiro Lopes is a postgraduate in projects analysis and preparation by Fundação Getúlio Vargas de Brasília. Between 2001 and 2007, he worked on the economic regulatory supervisory board of the National Electric Energy Agency – Aneel, where, in the last two years, was advisor to the supervisory board, having participated directly in the preparation of normative resolutions of the area, in addition to the adjustment process, tariff revisions and realignments of the Distribution companies. In this role, he also helped to develop the methodology for calculating the Rate for Use of the Distribution System (Tusd) and Energy Tariff (TE). Since July 2007, he is a technical adviser of the Abraceel, where he accompanies the activities of internal technical groups, the development of the regulation, the operation of the electrical system and the evolution of the free market.

Frederico Rodrigues | Institutional Relations Officer

Frederico Rodrigues is a mechanical engineer graduated from the University of Brasília (UnB) and holds a master's degree from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA). He worked for Themag Engenharia in hydroelectric projects and in other companies in the infrastructure sector. At Aneel, he was an advisor to the Board of Directors and Superintendent of Market Studies until July 2016, when he left the Agency. He assumed the Institutional Relations Board of Abraceel in January 2017.
